Soutien de l’ Immunité
In a controlled laboratory experiment using immunohistochemical analysis, Hubei University of Chinese Medicine researchers conclude that treatment of a single acupuncture point benefits the immune system.
Astragalus is one particularly well-known example of a Chinese herb tonic used to protect and support the immune system.
Fièvre & Inflammation
Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine researchers conducted a controlled clinical trial and determined that acupuncture reduces fevers and initiates a process wherein the normal body temperature is restored. A single acupoint outperformed a group taking Antondine, antipyretic drug in relieving fever in patients with the common cold. Acupuncture demonstrated significant results. The onset of action time averaged 1.42 hours in the acupuncture treatment group and 3.44 hours in the drug control group.
Research maps neural pathways by which acupuncture creates anti-inflammatory effects – opening window of benefit for many disease conditions where chronic inflammation is a factor.
The use of acupuncture or self-administered acupressure on specialy-selected points, adaptogenic herbal tonics to support wakefulness, melatonin to aid sleep and Qigong to strengthen the immune system can all be key components of an effective jet lag prevention and relief program.
